I am a box noob that needs help XD

So basically, my father is paying someone for these skyboxes and to me the dude is overcharging us. One of the boxes failed and he said he would charge for a £190 for a solo pro dvb-s2 hd pvr (upgrade) and then it would probably be a £75 fee every year. Now my father has not payed him so i came not ask how hard is it to setup one of these boxes yourself. Could anyone direct me to a really good one that works similarly to a sky+ box and also are there tutorials on how to setup one of these completely. Would i need seperate hardware to setup one of these or anything etc?

All the information is here on the forum , just go to the sat section and there is a list of box's to look at with all the information you need and all the firmware you need to put on the box free of charge ,Just take your time to do a bit of studying then you won't be paying someone to do the easy part ...
