Ok so Ive got one sly dish set to 28.2, ive purchased two blade media 7000s, one for downstairs and the other for my room upstairs. So how would I go about installing it, would I need to use a splitter and feed the other coax cable up the stairs into my room?

Is the LNB on your dish single, dual or quad? If it's either of the latter then your best option is to run another cable from the LNB to your other room as I don't think a spliiter is the best option.
 
My sly dish has just a single lnb, why wouldn't I be able to use a splitter for the one coax cable to two diffferent rooms?
 
The sky boxes are nooo good with splitters unlike their cable cousins.
Even, looping out is no good as I have found out.

The best option is to get a quad lnb and run another cable to the 2nd box.

Thats how I have it setup.
