If you live in a cable area just get them to setup your broadband after all it is the fastest with up to 200 meg.Then you will be able to setup up the other side fairly easy.
Had broadband set up 2yrs ago and engineer said he put nail through cable but wouldn't be a problem because I didn't want tv. After using sat boxes I decided to try h2h box but was getting no signal, took box to a mates house that's got bb an tv and it works. Rang virgin to be told I've not got active tv and would need to subscribe to tv package and £50 for engineer to cone out.
Do it yourself how is it setup? It should have a splitter after the white box one going to the router and another for the box if that cable is damaged just replace it.
I had broadband and phone installed 2yrs ago and engineer said that he had put a nail through the cable outside but because I wasn't having tv it would be fine. Tried connecting zgemma to it and get no signal so takes box to mates house and it works
