ITV3 HD constant glitching

anyone else been having glitching every 10 seconds or so on ITV 3 HD?
i've been getting it on just that one channel (every other channel is OK).

messaged my provider and they said

yes, it's because it's a £2 a month line. have you tried itv3 sd?
if you wanna try another line at £1 a month I'll give you a refund of the remaining months you have remaining but considering you are paying pennies a day, don't you think it might be slightly less quality than what sky charge at £50 per month? take the refund of remaining sub but expect to be sorely disappointed, choice is yours

just find it strange that just one specific channel would have an issue
 
Don't think it will solely down to line and I can't check mine but if I had a reply like that I would ask for a refund and go elsewhere
 
when you say not solely down to the line? what else might be the issue?
this line uses mgcamd, and other than ITV3 HD it's pretty perfect and can have no complaints.
 
That's a scandalous way to talk to a customer.
So, if a customer has ANY issues, his answer is "what you expecting?"??!!
 
No real help but I also have noticed ITV2 and ITV3 hd channel have stopped working for me, they started freezing a lot a week ago and now wont display at all.
Also ITV4 hd will lock on after about 10 seconds but freezes a lot.
All other channels are still fine.

Common just now sadly with lots of providers don't worry not always internal

the problem had spread to Universal channel as well.

doing some further investigation in this ITV3 HD issue - which is still present on another line from the same provider- although the glitch time on this new line is less than the other. the previous line would glitch and freeze and pause for a 1 or 2 seconds very 10 seconds or so. the new line still glitches but there is no 1-2 second freeze. the screen just gitches every time the ecm refreshes.

the ecmtime on ITV3HD is much higher than when viewing any other channel.
currently on ITV3HD just now the ecmtime has ranged from 1.642, 1.038, 1.001, 1.189 etc etc

i flick over the BT sport and the ecmtime is 0.231, 0.252, 0.251 etc etc and is 100% glitch free.

any thoughts?

i see a post has been deleted from this thread and my subsequent reply has been merged into my previous post (which now doesn't make sense and i have removed due to that).

any reason why that post was removed?

oh right... i just came back into the thread this morning and wondered what had happened.
but no it's DSAT, because it's the General Satellite Discussion sub-forum :p

but the problem remains. certain channels have a high ecm and glitch constantly, others are perfect.
glitching are ITV3HD, CC Extra, Universal (the ones i've noticed anyway). BT sport, discovery ITV2 HD are 100% perfect.
 
seeing the same problem again.
two channels as an example
GOLD - 100 glitch free
ITV3 HD - 100% constant glitching

following has been ruled out.
reboot box
drop PPP session and reboot router
different softcams

i give up.
i can set a clock by the glitching. that's how accurate it starts every day.

Its an odd one im not sure why this happens but its the same for me. Probably best using the SD versions till sorted either change ABM channel swap to no or edit the sat uk xml file to remove the swaps
 
yes it is very strange.
and it's only very specific channels too.
it's never ITV2 HD, but it is ITV3 and 4HD.
it's never GOLD, but sometimes it is CC Extra.
it's never BT Sports.
it never happens during the day time on any channel, but come 7pm you can guarantee it'll happen at 7pm on the dot.

i would switch ABM to no HD swap, but that would remove ITV2HD and that works fine.
it would need to be a very selective swap with ABM, and even then it sometimes affects SD channels too.
 
As a side issue to this, I got a trial line the other day and every channel was perfect.....except ITV 3 HD and ITV 4 HD.
The ECM times were wild. Was hitting 1.9 at one point!
I opened a cmd window on the PC and pinged his server and the times were really low, so it was definitely a line issue at his end.
Pity, as all the BT Sports were perfect, but I really need ITV4 HD so it's onto the next line trial....
 
that's exactly the same issue i am seeing.
high ECMs on those problematic channels.

i've seen this now on a couple of different lines, so it's either something with the de-cryption or something else going on.
 
Just put my old trusty line back on (its due to run out in a couple of a weeks and he isnt doing renewals, hence me trying various other lines), and both of those channels are perfect. The worst ECM I seen was 0.236, so its definitely a provider issue........
 
it may be provider issue, but i've seen it on two different providers (and both tested with C and N lines and on different cams).
however, for me it only kicked in at 7pm (usually on the dot), so maybe try ITV3 HD in about half an hour ?
