m3u playlist

I am just getting into iptv so the answer may be obvious, but do the channels on say a mag box auto update via the .m3u playlist the provider has provided?

I don't have the url just the m3u file.

Or...do i need a new m3u playlist?

Mainly asking because of the new sky sports channels from today.

They should update automatically I asked my supplier about the changes I was told they should eventually update automatically to the new headings
