M3U url vs Portal url

Hi, Im just getting familiar with IPTV and wanted to understand what the difference is between M3U file(url sent from supplier) to inputting a portal address(seen on Mag 256). Is one better then the other for quality. I recently used Perfect player (amazon fire stick) and used a m3u link. The actual stream worked fine but i was disappointed with how slow it was to scroll channels and get the epg working. Any advice appreciated
 
M3u is the file u enter into ur perfect player or other iptv player. Which has ur portal n username n password on it.

Url is the http link from ur provider which is used to enter into ur magbox.
U get m3u subs and u get mac address subs. With mac address subs u take the mac address frm ur magbox n give it to ur seller he then adds ur mac to the iptv servers and gives u the portal url which is the http link. This connects u to the iptv server n cuz ur mac address is already added the server send the iptv channel list to ur box

Ok thanks. So just different ways to get a channel list. No difference in terms of one is better quality for streaming then the other.
 
No mate. Both the same. However different players have different layouts. Other then that same

M3u won't update
M3u link then download to file will
Login type setup will update, but your stuck with their layout f you want to move anything about
 
I have successfully entered the url address of m3u playlist into simple client of kodi and it updates and I wondered if it is possible to do this in echannelizer for zgemma
