M8S root folder issue ... Please help!

Sorry if it's been asked before but search came back with nothing relevant I could see ...

Trying to copy a file to the root (/) of m8s box and when I try to copy it across I get a re-mount drive? pop up with re-mount as read/write and some mount commands.

If I choose cancel I'm back to square one .. If I choose ok, the file copies and goes into root of internal drive.

BUT !! ... After rebooting the box, the file has gone again.
Box has root access .. so ....Any help on what I've done to the box or need to do to make file stay is much appreciated.

My android box won't let me copy and paste files for some reason, I have to cut and paste instead. If that doesn't work have a look on the Freaktab forum, there's a lot of knowledgeable people on there who should be able to help you.

Thanks .. Turned out the internal sd had become corrupted after being lazy and installing a ready made kodi build then deleting it as it was ugly !
Factory reset the box and all was well. Now I just have to spend a week making my build up from scratch.
