Magic eye wont work, your going to have to watch the same channel as downstairs, unless you have multi tuner.

how I've been doing it, is streaming a channel to my phone/tablet, then chrome casting it to the tv.

Magic eye won't work but if you have a multi tuner box you can use Vu+ app watch tv on your phone or tablet or then if you use kodi eg firestick you can use Vu+ client and use that as your multi room on Your tv upstairs streaming your zgemma from downstairs.
