modem mode

hello..
just a quick question .. hope you can help.
going to be putting my superhub 2 in modem mode... (in the living room) im going to be putting a nighthawk d7000 in the loft to try and get a bit more range..
also in the living room i have a 24 port switch for the rest of the house..

my question is will i have to run a cable back down to the living room for the switch..

I would be putting a lan feed cable to your switch.

yes mate... so from hub to nighthawk, from night hawk to switch.

why not put your router beside the superhub, then to switch, then to a random wifi point in the loft.?
talktalk huawei routers [ and many others, like old white sly netgear ] can be easily configured as router only, thereby giving you wifi also,

the switch cannot provide IP addresses, so must come after your router

Its the range of the nighthawk that's giving me the need to get it in the loft
