Network Drive for EPG / Timeshift / recording

Ok everybody, as usual I want to run before I can walk...

Thanks to everyone who has helped me get up and running.

Thanks especially to Sucmnsee.

BUT...

I have gleaned that there is a way to use my network drive (plugged in to my Technicolour router) for all the above.

Anyone doing this and can point me in the right way to do it please?

i would be using a usb stick for epg not a network drive.
