newbie - considering a bm5000

Hi there, my subscriptions up in a couple of months and i've recently been made aware of the skybox. After a little bit of research i've established that the bm5000 may be a better choice if i want to vontinue recording.

Can anyone advise what i get in terms of recording functionality? Ie record 1 or 2 channels, watch something different from whats recording etc?

Also in terms of server/line. Will i be okay to go with advice on the forum? And if i can ask, how much should i expect to normally pay for the service?

Much appreciated.

I would go for the BM5000s over the F5s, simply because of the
amount of trouble people have with clone skyboxes these days.

But both boxes are pretty much the same in terms of function.

7 day EPG, easy to use timer recording, you will need to pay for a USB HDD.

Single tuner boxes, so basically the channel is locked whilst recording.

I know somebody will probably point out you can watch a program if it's
broadcast on the same transponder, but it really isn't that much use. lol

and go with a recommendation rather than Ebay.

Packages differ in price if you think in terms of about £10 per month
you should get something decent.

Don't go to cheap all you will get is glitchy viewing.

Hi bees. Read your setup guide and plan to use it Really appreciate the feedback here.

Dont mind having to record what the channel is tuned in to at all so thats no problem.

In terms of recommendations i have posted in that link this morning. How long does it generally take to get some recommendations? Trouble is the only recommendation i have is for one user on ebay and yes the price is cheap. (Under 30 per year). Other than that i havent a clue, ive had a look on various sites offering these services but really i'd just be guessing (and taking a chance with my money/details).

I didnt actually know i needed a hard drive for the blade until someone pointed this out to me on another thread lol. I thought it came built in lol.
