Yes, very good in fact.
Use perfect player, kodi, plex, stb emulator to name just a few. A few providers have their own android apps.

You may have to sideload some of the apps. Also vpn apps are easy to install for any of the live channel blocks.

They are extremely good just put STBemu on it and enter the portal address

I hAve plex and perfect player running on shield. Both run great. Lots of other stuff in shield too, good for casual gaming too.
