Hello to all the experts out there now i hope i explain myself correctly with my next paragraph to get the right answer.........

Right there is pixelation on a few of my HD movie channels and SNR shows below 70 whereas above 80 normally......The thing is if i go into service searching then cable scan whilst on said pixelation channel and scan it comes back as failed so i back out and hey presto channel SNR is 89 and great pic quality but if i change channel and go back onto it there is terrible picture quality again now i have tried openatv, ipab and currently on grog build but all the same any information as too why this could be occuring would be appreciated Thanks

BTW is a Zgemma H7c box

This could be down to power levels of the router, if you are using VM router
on the side or bottom of the router there should be a 'settings password'
type 192.168.0.1 into a browser and click enter, use that password to log into the router

advanced settings
tools>network status> click on downstream tab
copy and paste the snr and dbmv data here

Those are all ok, so that rules signal and power levels out.
I'd be looking at the splitter, it should be a Tratec or Technetix ideally, failing that a Labgear
almost all others are pretty useless for Cable TV

But that’s the power level going to the hub?
Depends on how it is split and cable can make a different

Or is that wrong?

Technetix is what i am using its strange as my box (gigablu) upstairs is absolutely fine so could it be the Zgemma ?

Ah, i missed that bit.
You've got two cable boxes? - which means you're using a 3 way splitter?
you may need to get a powered splitter if this is the case

and do you have the same provider on both lines? - if so then it could be the box, try the zgemma upstairs and the GB downstairs

Is it always the same channels that the problem appears on ?

Then it's pointing towards a weak tuner, some Amiko boxes had the same problem.

Different box, running the same line off the same connections point to the Zgemma tuner.

yes same channels inc channel4hd which are on the same transponder

Try the gigablue in the same room as the Zgemma, that rules
out splitters / connectors / cables etc

Sounds like your Tuner to me though

in my setup I get the same issues with a few of the hd movie channels, if the signal drops below 75 on some of them then those channels still clear but are unwatchable due to extreme pixelation, in my case what I do is I have a powered konig booster going into the router and I just turn the dial up on that, my power levels are alot worse than yours without it though, some of mine are like minus 11 but with the booster turned up about half way I can get the power levels to somewhere around 1 or 2, if I crank it up to the max I can get the power levels to 16 but thats not needed.
