Ordered VU+ Solo SE V2, Some Questions

Ordered the cable version so couple of questioms if snyone can help me please
How much support is there for this box now consudering its 2 years old.

Also im not sure what hard drive i need for this and what is the max size it can take
 
It's fully supported by vix mate if you put that image on it. Regarding the hard drive I have an external usb 500 gig hard drive with no problems (touch wood). Good choice.
 
I don't think its usb 3 read the spec :(y):

HDDs are usually backwards compatible.
 
Yeh, should work mate. You must be planning a lot of recording. Mine is usb3 and works fine as woody6222 says usb's are backwards compatible. Not sure about the 2Tb tho.

Where im stuck is the power supply.
Some are saying buy 1 with its own power supply and some are saying powrr through usb is ok.

The ones with iys own power supply the choices are very limited
