personal health insurance??

hey all ,

i was thinking of getting health insurance for me and the missus. i think this could be the way forward and if needed we could get fixed without a queue. so i went to bupa, axa, and aviva.

the m****** f*****s want around £90 per month per person
neither of us have problems yet, we dont smoke and we are in full time employment and i got told there is no a no claims bonus system because "they do not discriminate in the case of a claim" doesn't that mean you could be with them for years, not claim and be charged the same if not more??

WTF

i have had to visit some relatives in hospitals and have seen the conditions in some of these places and although some of these places are really good, some are absolute sh**holes.

is there anyone out there that can do this at a reasonable price

I haven't been able to find one that does it cheaper. I'm a non-smoker, full timer too with no previous history.
They are all a**holes.

I'm with bupa, and I've just had to claim an operation in hospital through them, it took FOREVER for them to approve it because I'd had my cover less than one year. Untrue really, I had upgraded it about 10 months before.
I was still billed for the anaesthesia and xray, I had to claim with bupa twice as they kept saying it wasn't approved, when I had paperwork saying it was. Mind, the hospital bills were paid promptly and with no issue once it was approved, as was a couple of diagnostic procedures beforehand.

Good luck finding a decent one that doesn't cost a heap!
Let us know if you do.

i just got a call back from axa offering me the top cover for £36 per month
what a difference?
they are the only ones that have called me back so far
i did tell them i would wait 1 week to give others a chance to ring me back. this is a much better price than what was first offered but lets see what happens
:nerd::nerd::nerd:

Hi Pizzaman, hav you checked what you get for the £36 ??
Most companys will take part payment from you for some claims! Personally they're all robbers, wish I could advise you wich is the lesser of all the evils!

I have asked for all singing all dancing cover. Originally I was told £50 for everything with a zero excess and £29 with 500 excess. I have been told £36 with £250 excess and I pay 40% if I decide to go to a hospital not on their list. The list given is quite extensive but you never know til u actually need help.
I know this is pure fleecing but the alternative don't sound good either. What can u do?

P.s. if anyone knows of a good provider please enlighten us

Thanks

Wow! You all get health insurance at very low rates. I live in the U.S.A. and we pay (through work) $240 per month for the Family plan. Assuming the conversion from USD (dollar) to GBP (British pound) is $1 USD = about £.64 GBP-British Pound... that means we are paying £154 per month for our health insurance AND it's going up another almost $100 shortly. But we do have excellent insurance with totally free dental (no co-pays) and totally free eyeglasses etc. (no co-pay). Everything is fully covered for all of us in our family ( doctors, hospitals, operations, catscans/mri, prescriptions, emergency room, sickness, accidents, chiropractors, Specialists, etc. ) except we pay a co-pay on some of those from $3 to $20 (£2 to £13).

i have just had "simply health" get back in touch. (i know , nearly 3 months later) but they have just offered me the same cover but there are less hospitals that will admit me. same cover, me and the wife at £52 per month. anyone beat that. if you are thinking of getting it then this is a more digestable price.
i dont sell this stuff so get ur own quotes :whacko::whacko: last thing i want is to lead people up the garden path
