ps3 issue

i have an old ps3 that i was going to sell,but when i tried powering it up to test it,it turned itself back off after about 2 seconds???

anybody know what the issue is? is this common on ps3's???

Have you tried a reboot, Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format.
