R4i gold won't work

Hi I have an R4i gold 3ds that has stopped working since I purchased Animal Crossing,my 3ds updated and my card has stopped working since.
I have tried formatting card and re-installing firmware but nothing I think the card is blocked,can anyone help with this please?
My firmware on 3ds is running:ver.7.1.0-15E
Any help or step by step guide as I just carnt get it to work thankyou
 
If you're after taking an update, the chances are you will have to get a firmware update. Go to the website address printed on the card, you may find it there. Going back to factory settings will not roll back the firmware version. Never take updates.

Hi I have tried formatting the card and putting the firmware on and doing the update in a ds lite and nothing,all I get is "error something went wrong please turn off"I am totally unsure what to do,should I just buy a new one or will I have the same issues?thanks
 
If you buy the same one and use the same firmware you will have the same problem.
Did you go to the website and get the latest firmware!?
