Remote Access to Boxes not in LAN?

Hi guys, i have a few friends who i have got boxes for, is there anyway possible for me to access their machines via FTP or something similar without having to connect to there LAN? Basically if i need to change their clines etc can i do this from my home without the need to access their LAN?

You can use team viewer to access there computer then use there ftp programme to there box.

I haven't done this myself but from what I understand it needs to be installed on there pc then you can access it remotely.

yes mate team viewer is the way to go needs to be on both pc
all you need of them is user id and pass

Ok, i will check that out. I normally land up to theirs an ftp using my iphone, is there a way to do it through smart phones rather than pc to pc? I know its doubtful but worth the question lol.
