Running 2 Tv's off one blade box.

Hi,

I have friend who had sky and has now got a blade
and wants to watch TV in the bedroom
off the same box.

Basically, when he had sky he just ran a
coax from the RF out on the sky box, outside the
house and back into the bedroom, and connected
it into his arial connection on the TV.

Then he set the channel on the box in the living room, and watched
the program in bed.

(Basic, but saves paying for multi room)

I tried doing the same thing for him using the blade.

I thought if I ussed the "Loop" on the blade this would
be the equivalent of the "RF out" on the sky box.

But a got an error on the front of the box

which looked like "LNBE" or something like that
and the box would not boot up.

Does anyone know how to get this working
like his old setup.

I know about digisenders and other options
but he doesn't want to spend any extra
just wants it to work like his old sky set up.

Can this be done ?

Oh, one last thing, the sky box also had his original TV arial
connected to it too, I didn't know if this needed connecting to
the blade I couldn't think why it would.

Thanks for any replys

hi, lnbf means you have a loose conection somewhere, i had the same box frezzing etc , make sure the sat cable is tight ...... lnbf is low noise block fault, so check your sat cable hasnt shorted, ideally remove the feed , switch on and see if the message is still there or not

if not, check the cable for short circuits or damp

Ok will check through the connections, but he still has the old
Sky box at the moment, and it works fine when running
with his old set up.

Hi mate all you need is an rf modulator fitted by scart to blade, and coax cable from modulator to tv in other room. i use this system and it works well. I bought my rf modulator on ebay, and the make was mercury. They are not expensive. You might need a coax fitting to adapt your cable to modulator. Hope this helps.

Just a quicky, do you attach the modulator
to the TV or the VCR/Aux scart connection
at the back of the blade

Thanks

Connect one end of scart to back of blade and other end of scart to the IN scart connection on the modulator, then a coax cable from the tv/vcr connection on the modulator to the ariel connection on the tv.

Thats sound. Thanks for the help.

But what i meant was that there are two scart connection points
at the back of my blade.(combo box).

Is it the TV scart or the VCR/Aux one that I use ?

I dont have the combo, but my box has 2 scart connections also, and im using the top one at the moment, but i think ive used the bottom one as well. We have moved furniture about including the cabinet that the box is in and i havnt been fussy which one i plug the scart into i think .

I had fun installing mine. I was with the modulator in one room with blade and tv on, and wife was in other room with tv switched to blank channel ready to receive. The modulator has channels 22 to 69 and you have to find the right one. I started at 22, shouted to wife anything? no came the reply, waited 3 seconds switched to 23, still nothing. As it went on the wife was getting pissed of and saying it doesnt work and i was starting to beleive her. :beg: When i reached channel 68 BINGO success thank god. ROFL

I think you can, i have seen some you tube videos,
but not with an F5 box, but the principle is the same.

If I can find them again i will post the link.

They where a bit short of £50 from what I can remember
so I went for another box rather then a magic eye as the the price difference wasn't that much.
(plus you have a back up box if one goes down with a fault)

Some servers allow two boxes to run off the same line if its in the same house.

Hi bees had a similar problem for 2 family members... First one I got round was with a £17 squid basic rf modulator of fleabay, blade was hdmi to main tv, scart from blade (tv) to modulator in, ignore the scary out on modulator.. It's just for poor people who dnt have hdmi... It would go on to tv if they had no hdmi. Coax from modulator to bedroom tv... If u feed a digi feed into modulator aswell it Will incorporate free view so when tuning tv in bedroom u will get ur digi free views and a single analogue channel on ur auto tune. Analogue one being ur back feed. Hey presto. If u want to be able to magic eye the bedroom tv then u need to get pimped up rf modulator, triax tri link are good... £35 ish squid. Same deal.. Except they have mains power supply and u have a wee I.r lead to plug in at modulator that gets slung round and u hang a couple of wee sensors over the front of the blade... Allowing u to change channel. This will work on a back feed that has 2/3 tvs going on. Just make sure all ur cable ends/connectors tickety boo... Trust me.. I learned the hard way on that front. ;-)

My house is fitted with Ariel Sockets in every room can i run the RF out from a modulator into an RF Socket then all the tv's in the house view the Blade Box..?

No, the Ariel sockets will all run back to the Arial.
Probably with boosters and splitters along the way.

This is using a coax to directly link from your box, through a modulator,
then sending signal from the modulator direct to another tv.
