Sat and cable boxes advice

Hi

At the moment I've got a skybox f3 and have been looking into getting a new box that has sat and cable capabilities.

For the cable side of things would I still need a line/server for it work?

Which all round combo boxes are worth buying?

years ago I had telewest at my property, I'm assuming at the moment the line is active. Is there anyway I could be check if it is active before I buy a box?

regards

not sure if you can check the line is active, but i am told most of them are. lots of people tend to get vm internet to guarantee a live line. Go to world of satellite, they have a range of boxes to choose from and then you can just look around the cable section on here for support. There is also a cable server request page here. There are boxes with a one off payment and they have built in server (kryptview etc) but they seem to be going off lately and they seem difficult to find to buy. good luck
