I am puzzled to what is happening to my satellite. Before the World Cup started all my channels worked perfectly and now i am having intermittent signal jumping from 80% to 0% on an off at times even watching ITV HD. Some channels now do not get signal at all and shows Tune Failed but some channels the signal keeps jumping up and down.

I am on a motorised dish setup and know its not the receiver as i have another receiver in another room and the same thing is happening there. Could anyone please help and point me to what i need to do to fix this?

    Thanks

Check the cables and lnb on your dish.

So the cables on the back of the box and the connections on the dish?

I had this problem once when I asked a satellite installer to drill another cable to the dish, the percentage of the signal kept going up and down constantly from 85 percent to 0 making the screen unwatchable so I told them to make sure all cables going into the lnb were tight again, the installer had a apprentice with him who was learning the ropes who had just buggered it up a bit really and left it loose so tightening it up again fixed it.

Checked the connections and they all seem fine. If the LNB was faulty would it still work and intermit?

No. If lnb faulty you wouldn’t get any signal.

If your l.n.b is faulty it will not switch
Between the v and h side off the transponder your s.n.r will drop from maxium 90 to 45 This when it is starting to break down eventually 0 s.n.r

Ok. Should have said you wouldn’t get a proper signal. :)

I would say buy a new lnb as it's a cheap easy fix.

Will look to change lnb but would some channels have signal and some remain 0? Also I think I have a triple lnb do they still do then as can only find a quad.
