Setting up HDD

Hi,

I have plugged my external hdd into the front of the zgemma and inistialised it.

Can someone let me know how i set this as default for live pause, recording, etc.?

If its vix try to use the rear usb as its main.

Menu
setup
system
storage devices (if not there format hdd on pc)
Initialise again

Menu
setup
vix
swap manager
create blue.
256mb. Wait
yellow to autostart
green to start
red to close

Reboot

I have one more problem, sorry!

I am trying to save setanta sports to my bouquets, however, every day when it refreshes at 5am it disappears again.

How can if stop this?

Is it ok to set all to hdd? Or should I use separate usb for epg and picons and only use hdd for recording.

Hi guys, I've followed the instructions above and after rebooting my box it is now showing the skin info when i choose a channel to watch but has no picture or sound. Any ideas??? I have a Z GEMMA 2 S ON VIX
 
Its not connecting to internet.
Hold power button on remote.
Select Restart
If not working when boots back up try:
Menu
Setup
Sofcam
Softcam manager
Go down to mgcamd and press yellow to restart

Either stop nightly updates,
Or put setanta In Favourite
Or google how to edit .xml file to keep it there

Either stop nightly updates,
Or put setanta In Favourite
Or google how to edit .xml file to keep it there
Or check u have ire set up too or what settings stopping it being there
 
Hi.... I've already done as well.just to confirm about the not receiving a connection.. on the back of the box there is a green and yellow light. The fee is flashing and the yellow is constant. Is this correct or a fault with the box. I've also changed earthnet cables. Thanks in advance
 
If ur getting green and orange its connected to router ok. Flashing means transferring data. So connection good
 
Just ran a network test ip address and name server both unconfirmed. I've found another link which is guiding me through but I've already tried this. The signal strength is strong at 99%.. any ideas
 
If test is unconfirmed with those two. Box off. Reboot router. Wait 3 mins. Box on. Do test again. Until u get all green on net test u wont get anything
 
Lan network issues

Hi again. i've gone into device set-up and found the Nameserver settings.... is it supposed to be 0.0.0.0.

The two items that failed on the network test were the Nameserver and IP Address, I can see the box has an ip address but am unsure as to the settings of the Nameserver??Any ideas.

I've rebooted, reset and changed out the Ethernet cables in case that's were the issue was. The two lights on the back of the box are stll on, the yellow is constant, the green is intermittent.

On the Network information page all fields have info in them but at the bottom of the page the LAN Connection looks like it is turned off with no green colour ball at the bottom of the screen.
 
Hi I am trying to initialize usb stick so I can record onto it but it says error at end of initialization and can't find it in timer/record setup could anyone help please I'm really new to all this thanks
 
Hi,

I can record onto my hard drive but it won't let me set up timeshift. I know what I'm doing when it comes to setting it up but I don't know why it won't let me do this.
 
@janso is your drive set up correctly? You need to make sure initialise it correctly,

If you used wooshbuild , did you after swapping drives initialise it, it won't time shift if you have it as fat 32, needs to be ext3 or 4
