setting up my h.2h to record

Hi all
I'm a complete novice to this so apologies for asking the potentially obvious!
I have a h.2h box set up to receive virgin media channels via cable. Do I need an external hard drive to record programmes? If so is there a particular type favoured? Once i've done this Is it possible to record a programme (or 2) while watching another?

you will need to plug a memory stick in or a hard drive.

have you not got one plugged in already?

you can record one program and watch another if both of your tuners are active.

Got a Hard Drive coming today. Any tips on how to activate both tuners. As I say I'm a complete amateur at this malarkey:)

the h.2h has two tuners . one sat and one cable. too record two channels you would need a feed to both. i.e. a cable feed and a Sat feed

i just put one sat and one virgin cable in the box, then it would record the virgin channels if I'm watching another, nothing else needed apart from ethernet cable?

No you will need the subs aswell one vm sub and one sky sub
