Sky q controlled via cat 5 and HDMI sender with IR

Hello. I've set a customers house up to that his sky Q can be controlled via a rack on another room.
Bought a labgear HDMI sender got the picture fine but cannot change channel in that room..????.. it's the basic remote not the touch pad one...?????
