Sly blocking iptv

I had freezing issues recently. Contacted my supplier and they advised to power cycle my router....unplug and leave a few mins then plug back in. Amazingly it worked a treat and I have perfect iptv again!! My supplier is pretty awesome tbh.

Oh, with reference to the original question. Sly are definitely blocking iptv (or mine at least)! I took my zgemma and firestick to my dad's this weekend. I have my iptv sub on both and they both work great at my house (EE fibre). When i tried to show my dad how it all worked, i couldn't watch a single channel!! I tried both devices but nothing. I then ran ipvanish on the fire stick and boom!! All channels worked! My dad has Sly broadband, so yes....they surely are blocking iptv!!

Some isp are blocking iptv but when they get the original source ie your supplier from there end vpn will be no good as it will be them whats blocked

I had a discussion about this the other day with someone pretty clued up. He reckons that because VPN's are legitimately used by millions if people and businesses, there's no way isp's would be able to block your vpn provider. Hopefully this is true

If using a vpn at your own end will work but if it's the supplier that's getting blocked then whether there's a vpn at customers end it won't work as the provider is blocked which blocks the content been passed to customers that's what I was getting at with my post to do with vpns not the actual vpn provider

Not being funny but I'm struggling to understand you.....your sentences are hard to decipher with your choice of words?? Am I correct in saying that you are talking about a vpn providers server addresses being blocked? You see when you connect to a vpn you don't just connect to one server....you can connect to any of hunderds/thousands of servers!! For an isp to block a vpn "provider" they would have to block hundreds of server addresses....but then the supplier would simply make a small change to their server addresses and all would be well again! There's just no way an isp could continuously block all of the servers addresses. So no, I'm afraid your statement is incorrect. Or are you referring to my iptv supplier? In which case again, that's also incorrect because the fact that I connect to a vpn "Before" connecting to my supplier means that my isp has no idea what im connecting to. So with no vpn, sure they can block my supplier. But if i connect to my supplier through my vpn, he'll no they can't. That's the point of a vpn! Just like pirate bay is blocked by my isp, but I connect to my vpn and pirate bay is freely accessible for me.

I mean if your supplier streams get caught and blocked without them been covered then using a vpn on your device won't work cause if his streams get blocked you get blocked that's what I'm saying sorry if dosnt make sense

yah, but thats not how the blocking is working.

they are not blocking the servers [which are mainly hosted abroad, well outside UK court jurasdiction, much less ISP's remit] from the entire internet.

they are simply blocking the delivery of data from those servers to your router.

if you have a vpn the ISP has no idea where the data coming to your router is originally from and so they cant block the IPTV server from serving you

imagine a postman refusing to deliver any murdoch published backed magazine or newspaper. he can't stop the mags from being printed - but he aint delivering them. well if you instruct them to be placed in a white envelope he will.

edit:

some iptv servers have been reported to hosting companies and kicked from servers for copywrite theft. but that is a seperate issue to blocking

All of the major ISP, BT/PlusNet/EE/Sky/TalkTalk are subjet to a court order to block certain IP addresses and/or IP subnets as provided to them by Football Association hackers (sorry technical teams).
The time it takes for the info to reach the blocking systems can vary from days to weeks.

IPTV providers can change outside IP's, but the FA check subs by getting test accounts and noting the IP's, the provider can use a VPN but FA will catch onto this and *might* try to include these IP's in their blocks. The block is only from 12:00 to 20:00 of all required IP's.
You are best getting your own VPN, then running your IPTV on this VPN. It would be hard for ISP's to block lots of VPN providers, just because a few customers are using IPTV.
The IPTV providers can only do so much chopping and changing but FA will keep up with them, now they know CS is dead they are trying hard with IPTV.

This is going to be a technical fight between FA, ISP and IPTV providers.

In the overall scheme of things Sly and the rest are paying lip service to the FA and the Court ruling. Together with the propaganda pumped out by the Murdoch media machine in cohoots with the anti piracy authorities they have already elliminated our ability to watch the 3pm kick offs anywhere in the United Kingdom, dont you remember the headlines quoted in this forum earlier this year? It must be true it was in the Sun!
In reality they (Sly & them) dont expect to eradicate IPTV and 3pm's they just want it to appear that way, its all smoke and mirrors

there's a big enough barrier to entry for iptv to be able to carry on

remember people have to have fibre broadband which is about £20 more expensive than ordinary broadband, they also need a monthly sub which is at least a tenner. have to be able to use telenet, FTP, order and often install a VPN, flash an image onto a box that comes installed with a german OS as standard and one bought from a specialist website. i mean what the **** does flash and image mean to the average punter looking for cheap TV?

fibre £30-40
vpn £2
iptv sub £10

theres £50 + rips per month plus a whole lot of hassle. it's less than a sky sub, but not by much

its the stuff ending up on reddit and free kodi streams they are going after.

card sharing is a piddle to sell and install, and much, much cheaper compared to IPTV
