Technomate Nano 3T Combo hard Drive issues

Hi Folks, new to the site and hoping you may be able to help me with a reoccurring issue I have with the hard drive. Every few weeks the system rejects the hard drive, and I have to initialise it, losing any recordings that I have made. Is this a common problem ? Anyone have any idea what the cause/ cure may be ? Many thanks, in advance.
The box is running Kernal version 3.9.7 of the Openpli 4. and the hard drive is a 60GB ATA Kingston SDD.
 
Hi I have a tm nano 3T box running same kernel running VIX and a 500gb external hdd with no probs , tried a Samsung sdd and had no joy don't know why but no probs in pc with it. hope this helps
