Two cable tuners with one input

Hi,

My mutant hd2400 box has 2 cable tuners.
However I only have one cable input from the wall.
I'm looking to be able to watch something on one tuner and record on the other.

Each tuner has two coax ports, for a total of 4. Is one an input and the other an output? If so, can I just have the output of one going into the other?

looping out from one cable tuner to the other is fine usually.
Xtrend even supply a small loop cable with the ET8500 for that reason.

Yip, when i had my 2400hd, thats all i did with no problems at all
