updating firmware on skybox f3

hi all, I have a skybox f3 with firmware on and want to update it to the latest and was wondering if I did would this affect my subs? Do I have to stick with the firmware that it was supplied with to stay with pay s****r or can I change it? Or would this brick my box? Been with cable many years and green as grass where sat is concerned.

If u update your box u will loose your share if u no what your line is then u can put it back in after.I will say this to u if your box is working fine dont mess with it.
