Usb stick

Hi All,

Apologies if this is a stupid question however I'm new to this and cannot find the answer.

The usb stick for flashing, can this be used afterwards as the storage device or are two sticks required to be brought?

No you can use the same usb stick after flashing. Minimum 4gb but more the better :)

4gb is very small for recordings, might be best to add a bigger HDD

Yeah, 4gb wont get you much recording - especially in HD! ... a 128gb drive will give you about 65-70 hours of SD recording.

Thanks for your replies, going to get a 64gb or a 128gb stick.

One last question, after using the stick for flashing does it then have to be wiped and reformatted for use as a hdd?

it doesn't have to be reformatted but is advisable to do so. you can initialise the stick, reboot and then just change your epg from internal to media/hdd for your recordings.

I would use two sticks 4gb for flashing and from 16gb up for recording Then you can use the 4gb stick again on another box if required
