Virgin / idiot alert! Need advice

Firstly I'm totally new to this...
I see people everyday offering this on facebook and thought to myself that it can't be that difficult...after preliminary research I think i'm wrong.
It looks like the zgemma star 2 is the most common box, they are eadily bought from ebay but thats obviously the easy bit. Is there a complete idiots guide anywhere on what needs to be done to set it all up?
Apologies for my naivity but I just want away from Sky and this looks like to way to go.

That's generally the idea bud - as each person noramlly asks a specific question when they're stuck at a certain point.

Best advice is to read either the post by Sucmnsee (Hades image) or MTpockets post (OpenATV) to get setup and most issues are resolved in these 2 posts
 
If you use sucmnsee's image, then follow his guide, you'll be setup in no time. Only info you'll need outside of the image is your sub details.
