Has anybody got any ideas why I have to keep resetting my box every morning because of freezing channels, do I need to turn the box off over night?

Yes set to re fresh every 24 hrs

i had same problem turn auto refresh off and do it manually it worked for me

where is your epg going to and from what epg provider xmltv?

epg to hdd or usb try open 28.2
