What is a clone box?

I cant seem to find a definitive explanation as to what these are, im assuming that its a box which has been made unofficially?

am i right to assume that cccam will work on any box regardless of whether or not its a clone eg if i got a vu box from amazon? Is the only danger that clone boxes can be bricked if using the wrong fw?

To be honest mate cloud iboxes are all clones of another type of box.

But you are now getting Clones of a clone think the only way to tell is opening the box to look at what type of board it is but that's the only difference sure they bot work of the same images.

I always understood the term to mean a 'Dreambox' that isn't actually made by Dreambox, i.e. it's a clone by another manufacturer like, for example, Sunray.
