Hi guys, First off sorry for my ignorance but I've just discovered these boxes now I'm currently on VM and wanting to use one of these instead. If i were to get one and just connect my current cable to it will I be able to get all the channels that are showing on my current VM box? and is the H.2H the correct box to use if im only using the VM cable? any help would be appreciated.

No, you wouldn't get all the channels, you would have to
A. put firmware on the box (no big deal)
B. buy a subscription from someone (about £70, I think, I only have Satellite)
C. connect the box to the internet, preferably using an etherrnet cable.

Is the H2H box the right one, well probably - It is a Cable box, but it would depend on your budget for the box

Iv got a TiVo box with virgin broadband wht do i connect to get HD on the H2H but i need to keep the TiVo on for my family TIA

1. Tratec splitter
2. WF100 or PF100 pure copper core cable
3.F connecters
4. F connecter to coax plug
5. A VM server connection (line/gift)

3. F connecters
4. F connecter to coax plug

Can you not terminate with a coax plug straight away rather than having to use a gender changer?

You could do, but I find it can be a loose fit. Where as the method above ensures a good connection.
This is my personal way of doing things.

Interesting. I wonder why more brands don't manufacture their boxes with female F plugs instead of the coaxial inputs. Surely there is more need for the F plug.
