Info for a mate, Looking for a splitter for vm, main feed comes in, goes into a splitter, one for B.B. one for tv, he’s wanting to keep his vm tv box but split the feed into an h2h. Should he replace the splitter where it enters the building into a 1-3 port? Any advice much appreciated

your main feed which goes into the two way splitter will be placed into the 3 way splitter, labgear splitters from screwfix are fine. Its possible that you may have signal issues dependant on how high your signal is at present now that its split 3 ways

he can either get a 1 - 3 splitter, or just add another 1 -2 splitter in there somewhere.

Also, what box would you recommend, he only has vm
that depends totally on his budget and what he is after. If he doesn't want to record then the H2H is not a bad box, it does have 1 sat and 1 cable tuner but the sat can be disabled. A lot (but not all) of the cable enabled boxesd also have a sat tuner.

If he plans to watch one and record another channel at the same time then depending on budget, the zgemma h4 is a triiple tuner cable box, it's not the fastest box in the world but can be picked up for less than £60, the H5.2tc is a good budget box for less than £80 which has a twin cable and single sat tuner and is faster than the H4 and H2H. If he is after something more powerful then the 4k boxes are normally faster, the zgemma H7C has 2 cable tuners and a sat tuner and can take an internal hdd, these can be got now for less than £140, or he could go for something like the VU+ Uno 4k, it has 8 cable tuners but it can not take an internal hdd and are about £220.

There are obviously ones in between, these are just boxes I have experience of

the h3.2tc is about the same as the h2h but with the extra cable tuner, the h5.2tc is faster
