What would you use it for?

Here's a little gizzmo I came across recently and I wondered what real use it could be put to?

It's a UK 6A Single socket power block which has a USB socket & comes with software too.

It allows the user to control the power on\off status via the internet or smart phone.

A bit like the timers used for switching on or off lights but with remote access via a choice of methods

The supplier is actually running a competition HERE: to see what uses people might find for it & the winner gets one free.

I'm not interested in the competition aspect of it but would like to see what innovative usage ideas members here can come up with (y)

I wouldnt have a clue gman but it reminds me of this thing i was reading about, dont think these will be around til next year though.

That's kind of why I asked the question.

It's no different to the standard plug in mains timer except for the fact that it can be accessed via the Net or smart phone.

So what advantage does that little extra carry if any?

It's looking like it's on course for the "Gimmick" as opposed to "Practical" gadget category?

I couldn't use it for anything, none of my appliances will fit the plug. lol
