why 2 softcams ???

hi guys, i have a zgemma h2s,
have always only used one softcam, ie cccam,
but i notice there is an option to have 2 softcams , why is this the case ?
this is a stupid question but can you use one for tuner a and another for tuner b ?
just curious and trying to learn,

If your running a h2h you would need one for sat and one for cable
but some people get two for say sat, just incase one goes down

but I think it's silly having two for the same
but I'm sure people will say it's a good thing to do
 
I use cable and sat and have 2 different providers, one for each. I just combine though, put both c lines into the one cccam.cfg file. Would there be any benefit splitting them and using 2 softcams ? Do both cccam.cfg files still go to the same location ?
It has always worked fine for me ?
