Which EPG plugin are you using, Cross or EPG Downloader/XMLTV? When you say it's going in to deep sleep, is it booting up from scratch when you press power on?

yes its booting up from scratch, when i turn it on in the morning.....box is on standby when i go to bed...display showing the time...in the morning, the display is blank, and when turned on it boots from scratch.
I'm using cross epg and xmltv found withine the cross epg folder.

Obvious one maybe but have you checked if you have a PowerTimer enabled to tell the box to go to deep standby during the night?

If your using epg refresh set "shutdown after epg refresh" to no. If already set to no check power timers
