The strange thing was, i still had use of the router for wifi. MY PC was still connected and working and the speedtest completed through the problematic router. It just wouldn't stream. thats when the issue started.

It is a good idea to buy a decent router instead of the ones your isp provides, and just use your isp router as a backup anyway glad you have got it sorted. Although what you have described above just seems like the router could of needed port forwarding.

If you have a v6 box you can use your own router no problem. in simple terms data is sent through various ports from one location to another. if you have a port that is closed on your router and someone is sending you info via that port and it is closed you will not receive the information. Most of the common ports are open by default

I would very much doubt you were suffering from flooding unless you are lapse with your security. However, whatever the chap has done it seems to of worked.

There is someone I know that has suddenly started to charge people £10 for EPG and my friend says that's it, he can't get epg any other way with importer or crossepg, is this common place for IPTV providers to be doing this yeah ? He said that the guy also said he is required to have Xtreme Editor too before he will be allowed EPG, I thought that was shocking to be honest and thought maybe there is a way around that charge, could there be ?

good suppliers do not charge for a epg. my supplier uses xtream editor nothing wrong with that you just give the supplier the code generated by the plugin then just import boquets then import epg job done.

He already has his boquets and channels working, does that mean he will just need to import the epg then rather than boquets too ?

I am now getting the buffering too (if you want to call it that), even though it's IPTV, I call it Glitching or freezing, it never happened before but since the update it has, so what is exactly the problem here, is it the Xtream Editor or maybe something else ? I am on Openatv 6.1, Zgemma i55 ( iptv only model), everything was perfect until the update they (whoever they are) done the update, crazy as it was all perfect before, any you guys having same problem or is this the sellers end or possibly resellers end ? Edit: when I say "End" I mean is it at their end ?

The IPTV Supplier using Extreme Editor has to Buy Credits to Extend a Line for 12 months. It costs them to do this, and the time involved in setting up the Extreme Template to the way you see it is NOT done automatically.
The IPTV Supplier has got to Take the time to create a Template and get it the way you have it on your BOX, that's very time consuming.
He may have 10 Templates for all sorts of different users and Countries & Devices. I don't know the exact Set-Up the IPTV mentioned has..
I would not Imagine he charging for EPG, he is charging for the Costs of Credits it Uses for the Pro Version of extreme editor by the sounds.
EPG can come from Extreme Editor or Direct from the IPTV Suppliers EPG on there Server, That is the suppliers choice when setting it up. The Best to use is Exreme, as it is more populated and covers many countries.

On your ISSUE, I hae not had any issues with Version 2.12 on Extreme Editor. And nor has anyone i know.
Could be the box you have, Could be your Network and could be your Supplier.
I would suggest setting the Apps Settings to IPTV option and then do a Bouquet Update (Yellow) Save
Do you have Timeshift setup on the Box?
Do you have a Swap File created on your Storage Device?
Test on Perfect Player via your phone or Another Device, Computer Etc. VLC, ask for a M3u Line to TEST and see if this does the same..
Lastly, get a TEST from another supplier with Extreme Editor and See if the issue persists..

    Good LUCK!

I know what your saying @mike123 ;) but you know as well as I, the version of 6.1 I have is dated 30/12/2017, not very long ago at all and it's been bang on, spot on, perfecto until whatever this person has done has done, there is some sort of new update or upgrade and now certain channels are freezing every so often, certain times of day worse than others and then all you have is the SD version of that channel to select and then go back to the HD version again which is rather annoying after having it perfecto before any update or upgrade, I notice it's using Gstreamer 1.13.0 (GIT) (whatever that is, lol) and the EPG and bouquets come through Xtream Editor, so I'm not sure if there is anything can be done or what.

Has the seller screwed things up do you think ?

Change the Gstreamer 1.13.0 to IPTV... and the Yellow to Reload Bouquets and then SAVE and TEST

I have a 256MB swapfile, just double checked.

How do I change the gstreamer to IPTV mate ? And can it be changed back if there is no difference ?

Yes, it can be changed back easy
Goto your Plugins menu, Launch Extreme Editor and you'll see the Opton you have for Gstreamer SET
Simple change that to IPTV Option and then Green "import Bouquets" & Blue "Import EPG" - SAVE
    Re-try your Channels..
