zgemma h1 no connection above openATV 5.3

Hi, as title states, i have 2 identical zgemma star h1's, one in the front room, one in the bedroom.
both were running identical openatv 5.3 images, front room box updated to 6.1 fine, all up and running again in no time, went to do the bedroom box, flashed 6.1 image, will not connect to network, reflashed with 5.3 connects no problem, tried 6.0, no connection I have since flashed every os/build known to man and this thing will not connect to the network on anything other than atv5.3. please help someone, I am at my wits end with this, i have tried everything manually setting network settings, ip's, dns's. i am truly stuck!
 
wifi or lan ?
network plugs?
plain ATV or a build?
a bit of info would go a long way, the batteries in my crystal ball have run out
 
hi, all of the above! i have tried lan, direct to router, through the home plugs. i used plain atv, but have since tried the various builds on here also. i am at a complete loss.
 
flash plain ATV and use wired LAN
then look in the router and see if its on the network

make sure its a good ethernet cable
