Zgemma remote control issues

Hi all,
just wondering if anyone has experienced remote control issues with the zgemma ?
Just recently purchased one and got it all set up successfully, however I find that when using the remote control to move up and down menus, it freezes and becomes unresponsive for 5s or so. Even using the volume up/down buttons on the remote does the same, yet if I press the volume up/down buttons built into the front of the box it is fine !??

You have permanent USB in box set up yeah?

I only just got the box on Wednesday, and its been like that since I got it, would it need a reflash ? Is that simple to do ?
I have a 1TB drive linked up permanently

First look at everything else like is HDD initialised with all EPG/record/ts paths set?
Software background scan off?
Usb 3 or 2 type HDD?

Where do i look to see if HDD is initialised with all EPG/record/ts paths set ?
Also where is software background scan ?
The usb is usb 3

A simple reboot did the trick !!

EPG. Check saved to HDD.

Menu
Setup
System
Record an timeshift. Check are set to HDD.

Menu
Setup
System
Software update. Make sure update is off and background is off
