ZGemma S2 HD Channels help please

Hi everyone,
I have a Gemma S2 that I recently purchased and tried to change the channels in autobouquet maker to show local area
Sine doing this and restarting the box, I have lost all my HD Channels. The pic just freezes when I try to change to a HD channel.
The SD ones work fine and I'm sure HD ones were working yesterday....(until I changed it around...DOH!!)
Any ideas on what settings are to get HD playing again?

Or....Does anyone know the correct settings for SD Channels to be on 301, 302, 401 etc?
I have tried botch channel swap on and off at bottom of auto bouquet maker settings

you cannot get sly hd channels, but you can get free to air and bt hd channels, plus sentanta, premier hd.

My autobouquet settings are as follows.

swap..yes (this swaps hd channels with the relevant SD channel position. i.e 101 BBC1 SD, becomes 101 BBC1 HD

Thanks for reply, will check my settings......Can you watch sly movies on 301 for example or is it on the other channel and 301 is unviewable?

I have tried the settings and still the same......301 is HD and not working so I have to open epg and search for SD channel to view

Once I have done the above I reboot the box but still got HD on 301 etc
 
what build are you on. ,maybe try a software update and then do a rescan.

I am using Granada custom and my 301 is skypremier SD.

you can always try a different region as a test and see what populates. might just be a channel switch in your area that has thrown some out of sync.

you mentioned your rebooted your box, but you didn't mention you started a new scan. If you change your autobouquets settings you then have to click start scan. This populates your bouquets before it automatically does it at 5am

I am doing a scan now as I appear to have lost all channels....I deleted autobouquet history cos I am a K**b and thought it would refresh things possibly now I lost all channels and any list I choose brings up no channels.....I have the Vix build I think mate
 
I always delete existing bouquets before I do a new scan. they should all come back, don't worry
 
lol....I will see what happens when this finishes scanning but it appears to be finding channels again.

SO, as a numpty let me just check this is what I have to do for future reference.......cos when this comes back on it will be in dorset I think.....lol

Change channel service area to Westcountrycustom THEN do a full scan THEN reboot box or reboot box first then Full scan?

Sorry for all the questions and I really do appreciate the advice but I am new to this box......lol
 
no need to reboot box at any point.

the scan you should be doing is the start scan in autoboquetsmaker or autobouquets E2 menu which ever you are using.

set to your area custom, this populates your bouquets with SD channels and the HD where available. The your area bit is only for local news and stuff, so if it seems broken you can use another area if you wish.
The swap does exactly that. It overrides the originally positioned SD ones with the HD version. So 101 BBC SD, becomes 101 BBC HD/

Unless something is broken, i.e a channel suddenly disappears or you are searching for a new channel i.e SBO for the boxing there is no need to do a manual scan as the nightly(weekly) updates should find these.

After you have done an autobouquets scan, It is also best to do a full manual scan in service searching menu. This takes a while though, can take about 15 mins to complete.

in the manual scan put the following settings.

single satellite
28.2e
network - yes
clear - yes
free - no


This extra scan, will give you a full list of channels available on the satellite. (900+ channels)
So then if you go in channel select (tv button) then press the green button (satellites), you will have a complete list of channels available on that satellite, not just the ones that autobouquets is referencing.
Always a good place to look for missing, moved or new channels.

I did the Custom one lancable.....To be honest it confuses me on the difference between the 3 available options Westcountry SD, HD and Custom.....But I now have all my channels back with SD on 301, 401 etc so I ain't touching it now.......lol

I just need to sort my usb stick for recording and try and save the other thing so I can feel safer incase it goes down

Thanks again for this.........I am doing the manual scan now......I thought it was wrong having to keep rebooting box but was told to do so.....can't be good for the box
 
can't be good for the box.... when I was designing the new slyk1hd skin I was rebooting my box every 15 minutes. some days I could have done it 30 times if not more. And this solid little box is still as happy as it ever was. What I have learnt with these boxes is you can pretty much faff as much as you want. there isn't much you can really break. Worse case scenario you end up in a boot loop and have to reflash your box. So don't be scared of experimenting. As long as you have got a backup of any line you may have. Try different plugins, try different builds, try different button mapping. Go through every menu, change a few things and see what it does. It's part of the fun. There is always someone on techkings to bail you out of the sh!t.

Learned something new myself there. Going to change my scan from daily to weekly as I see no need for a daily scan. Also will do a manual scan to get full list. Thank you

Yes and its usually kiddac! He has a point though. These boxes are great for messing with. If you do screw up just reflash.
 
Hello can anyone help me I have had zgemma box for a while channels always been fine soon has I changed my regional channels to my area evrything is fine and in write area then soon has 6oclock in the morning comes my box has some sort of update. Then when I press tv for guide I would usely have all channels entertainment movies sport ect. Were after update it splits evrything up and has other files comeing in to it what I never had there. So flashed it back to normal then 6 o'clock in the morning same thing so I'm guessing i have something what needs changing on my box for it to just stay the way itis. Just wanted it to be in my area and has give me a massive headake if anyone could help me out be grateful thanks.
 
I have a H2s on the most recent wooshbuild - I have 2 channels missing Bt Sport 2 BT SPORT ESPN- I just get a blank screen - the same happens with ITV 3HD and ITV 4HD but the EPG has the SD version further down so that doesn't worry me - searched the threads for hours - tried rescanning through auto bouquet and restarting but the channels have not appeared - any help greatly appreciated
 
Hi i have a zgemma star s2 my subscription has ran out but before i get a new one i was wondering if you can use an iptv service rather than a c line to get hd channels?
 
The person you purchase a subscription from should send instructions on how to add to your box.

Sorry just seen your box i dont think its powerfull enough.
I no a few use on h2s but thats faster than your box
