CCcam easy line switching

Well they say you learn something new everyday. I just found out something that I never new existed. The joys of poking around all the python components while you are researching skin screens.

If you have more than one line and are using CCcams as your softcam software, there is a very easy way to switch between the different lines. Instead of the system deciding based on ECM times.

Instead of just one file called CCcams.cfg with all your lines in. You can create multiple cfg files that end in a number.

i.e

CCcam_1.cfg
CCcam_2.cfg

Then if you go into softcam panel, then CCcamInfo (yellow button), there is an option there to switch config.
You can also view the contents of this file which is very helpful.

Voila.

cccam1.jpg

cccam2.jpg

Ps. Make a backup of your CCcam.cfg before you start messing, because if you still have CCcam.cfg in keys it renames it CCcam.cfg.backup. I don't know whether this is temporary or whether it might future delete this.

Another reason why I think CCcams is so much better than MGcamds.

the majority of people on here can't even use cccam, never mind mgcamd and oscam will have them running for the hills.

I am skinning oscam screens next... so this should be fun ;)

I might need your help. ha

Haha well if you or anyone need any Tips on OSCam pm me ;) I find it so much better even just for the load balancing and cache ex (pull only I'm a good boy lmao ;) ) And Yay for skinning OSCam - you rule!

why not just pop multiple cccam lines in the same cccam.cfg and let cccam choose automatically whats the best line to use for the channel you want to clear?

Was going to start a new thread but then a quick search on the "search forum" tab helped me find this. Thanks to kiddac for teaching some of us that one, anyway...

Which method works better? kiddac's or lamblamb?

Does either method switch over automatically?

Is there a massive freeze delay before it works out one's stopped working and the other kicking in?

The reason I find separating out the files better is I might suddenly start getting a lot of glitching or freezing despite the ECM being good. I can therefore just go in softcam manager and switch to another line and see if that improves it. It only takes a few seconds to switch.
I am not sure how the automatic switch happens. I don't know whether it picks the best line on boot up. Or whether it does it on channel change, or whether it is constantly checking your line while viewing the same channel.

Another thing I noticed if you have multiple servers in 1 file, the Ethernet LED at the back is like Blackpool illuminations. Just flashing rapidly constantly. Splitting out the lines seems to make the LED just flash more normally.

So say it freezes, is there any way using this method (multiple in one file) that the time to flick from one to another can be shortened? is there a file that can be edited?

I've tried doing this and it never works. Do the lines go under neath each other or does they have to be space between the lines

would this simalairly work if done with multiple newcamd.list running via mgcamd?

I.e

newcamd_1.list
newcamd_2.list
