Downloading Movie from IPTV Plugin to HDD

Hi,
I've had a look around and it appears that it should be possible to download movies from the IPTV Plugin apps but I have tried and failed.

Example.
I open the hdpopcorns app
I find a movie
If I press the green button one of the options is IPTV Download manager
I press the blue button to start the process
I exit and select the movie.
I expect it to download to the HDD but it just streams.

Any ideas? What am I doing wrong? Is there only some IPTV plugin apps that you can download from?

I download via the iptv player plugin all the time, I have noticed the odd app just streams for some reason but most do download, try another app like watch series or bbc iplayer.

Open IPTV player plugin and scroll down and select the coggs icon and make sure all the cache, buffer and records path all point to your hdd, ie /hdd/movie or /hdd/IPTVCache

That is using a paid iptv sub not the iptv media plugin

Many thanks for the reply.

That makes a little more sense. I knew it was something simple that I was messing up.

I have a paid iptv sub.

I went to VOD through EPG found the film there and pressed the record button. It is now downloading to HDD.

Many thanks for the quick reply and suggestion. I got it to work through VOD record but it looks like the IPTV plugin player also has that option and what you say sounds right to me. I might try to download from a different app later.

Be very careful with popcorn streams as they are easilly tracked by ISP's. Not an issue at the moment but with the way copyright law is going you never know.
