Flu or other

Just been reading about latest circumstances with a new bug floating around and hitting people harder than normal. Wife of M8 was in Uk a week ago and brought it home , all of those got it and layed up.

I might suggest to buy some Vicks First Defence nasal spray and use it to stop a sore throat from getting worse or use if going out to shop.
I also use Broncho Stop pastilles herbal and works.
My M8 is using Bronchoforce by A Vogel a herbal remedy using 6 drops on tongue and swears by it . Recovering in bed and contains Thyme.

Some of these may ease breathing by opening up the airways slightly but I don't hold much faith with herbal remedies. If they have bacterial infections they need antibiotics, if they have viral infections they need antivirals, sniffing herbs and wearing elaborate floral headgear isn't going to make them get better.

Best option is to boost the inbuilt human defence systems. They've been managing for millions of years, if they can't help, then a Holland & Barret infusion of honey and Vietnamese bat farts ain't gonna have any effect.

The amount of money saved by not buying LemSips from the last 5 years and different cough bottles for different coughs is great for big companies.

What are you taking to boost immune system

Large doses of vitamin C usually works for me.
First sign of any kind of illness and away I go.
It will cause looseness in the pooing ddepartment though.
But I'd rather have a few days of being loose than a month of snot and aches.
Lemsip is paracetamol and Flavouring, not worth bothering with

I was laid up in bed for a week with the flu after a Xmas night out. I used to work in pharmacies when I was a student and my sister is a pharmacist. As @pabloescaban says, the best remedies are the natural ones. Get yourself some oranges for Vitamin C, eat plenty of vegetables and drink LOTS of water. You can take paracetamol for the pain. Maybe cough mixture or sudafed for blocked nose, as required. Everything else if just there to rinse you for money.

There is no cure for the flu other than your body's natural immune system. I was sweating buckets as my body tried to fight it, hence why drinking water is so important. Your body needs natural vitamins and energy to fight the virus. Chocolate and biscuits are not going to help as much as a healthy dose of fruit and vegetables. The better quality of food you put into your body gives your immune system the best chance of fighting the virus. Rest is also really important for recovery.

Don't be fooled into buying expensive miracle cure medicines - this is a placebo. It's your immune system that's really doing the work.

I dont have an immune system as caught Glandular fever in my teens and knocked me for 6 and never recovered.

Cant take orange juice as it will flow through me and grapejuice is a no no on meds.

i had the shits and stomach cramps for a week in early december.

went on holiday for a couple of weeks.

came back and got the cold, cough and achy stuff.

i swear by lemsip, sugar and brandy.

it probably doesnt work but the constant alcohol intake seems to make it better 👍

I had a severe stomach upset in early December which I put down to a dodgy instant meal. I was bad for a week with a gradual improvement back to normal.

I have a gin and tonic each day to keep the malaria away. Well I believe it anyway.
