Lied in bed Glastonbury on, the biggest load of sh*t I've ever heard The National ?. That the best they can do ? Some OAP American Indie toss ?.
Bad enough having to watch England nevermind that diarrhea ear pain.... And there's the nobs all making out it's good

I am at an age where I believe all the best music has already been made. I
Don’t really listen to modern music much nowadays but I agree that the lineup’s this year have been poor.

Most of the music I listen to (1960-1975) was made before I was born. I still listen to some contemporary music, but I feel a lot of modern music has no soul and is very commercial. I really like Rick Beato and his latest video has some good theories on why music is getting worse -

I'd love to know where the punk generation is today. Youth of this country are getting completely over and if I was young I would be looking for music that tells me to smash the system. Instead kids want to listen to K-Pop and do their dance routines - I shake my head! (I sound like such an old man and I don't want to)

Watched loads of Rick’s videos and I agree that lots of modern music is very commercialised and lacks soul or any real meaning.
The youth of today are to busy living on social media working out what their pronouns are, the gender category they fall into or worrying about how they look and what influencers are doing to actually see what is going on around them.
You don’t sound like an old man just an observant one or maybe an ageing anarchist lol.
 
I used to do lots of festivals back in the 80's Glastonbury,stonehenge,black Mountains etc and they were all free festivals with loads of good underground bands to be seen. It was all about being free but now it has been turned into another commercial cash cow circus for the government.It's more like the radio 1 roadshow than a festival and most of the bands they have on have no tallent and are just there for the money. That's life now,anything that used to be free isn't now.
 
The only bit i managed to watch was yesterday when Shania Twain was on during the build up to the england game. To be honest i think i could only stand about 10 mins of it and when she started talking to the crowd it quickly got turned over.
 
Agree with all the above, worst Glasto for years except for Paul Heaton, Keane & James which says it all. Poor kids think these mediocre headliners/ acts are great, absolute sh*te talentless tw*ts in my opinion. About time those BBC puppet presenters were put out of their misery too.
 
Lcd soundsystem was about the best for me 👌. Daughter went to one of the Clubland events and said the music was ace but some of the vocals was woeful live on stage 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Paul Heatons set was good, i watched it too.

Never actually been, but loads of other stages that never get broadcast, so loads of stuff going on.

Rick got a lot of heat after his last video and put a new one to address it. His last video had 2 main points
  • Music is too easy to make/record now (anyone can make music without learning how to play an instrument)
  • Access to music is so easy and it's consumption means less (Spotify has every album by your favourite artist - before you needed to save and buy each album and listen to them)
He backs up his statements in his latest video where you see Google trend data that shows music and genres's have decreased massively in search results in the past 20 years. What has gone up in Google trends? Social Media!
