Hi everyone, my v8s is driving me crackers, I have 2 boxes with the same lines on both, they're never on at the same time, one line purchased with each box.
The box upstairs (first one purchased) works great no probs at all.
The box in the sitting room however for the last week has been a nightmare. Constantly freezing due to logging in msg on cccam.cfg. have tried updating everything available on the server, I have removed and redone both lines, soft resets hard resets shouted and swore at it, but to no avail, so time to ask you guys for help. Any nasty words that will get it working will be used :-)

OK the one upstairs is doing the same thing, I ran the line through an online test and its fine, I added 2 more working lines and they are doing the same thing, online/login, less wait inbetween but that may be because there are now 3 lines

yes but the 2 boxes are never on at the same time, also the new line was pulled off a website after i tested it, and that one is now doing the same thing, this is driving me potty LOL
May have to go visit the king of the potato people :D

If your putting the lines in manually, delete them and put them in a .cfg file and place into root of a fat32 formatted USB stick, then insert USB into box and add lines that way!

I did put them in via USB. I also changed the channel of the router to make sure nothing was interfering with the signal, I have also removed my paid line and replaced with a free test, same result. It's like the box is strangling the internet, I have one of the boxes plugged into the router direct still the same. Grrr

Yes and no, this is what makes me say its strangling the net, via WiFi it says it's connected but you try to connect to the server for updates and nothing, via direct connect it connects to server fine but still has the original problem. I have made sure the Dhcp is on, checked my internet speed, basically everything outside the box has been checked. All the FTA channels are fine and have a bril picture so it's not the dish or limb.

I have downloaded a firmware update but it wants to do a factory reset, this of course means setting the box up from scratch, as I didn't set it up to start with I have no clue what this involves.

Preferred method is

Ethernet
Homeplugs
WiFi

WiFi can be hit and miss with any sat / cable box.

Aslo, think you may need a better line, how much are you paying for a line ?

The line came with the box, it's a 3 years line. But it does not seem to matter what line I put in it does the same thing, I get picture for 2 seconds then freeze from 1 to 10 min then another 2 second video and sound, I do think its my end as the line has been fine until now.

A three year line lol

It's your line mate

Ebay ???

Anyway, look for a server that allows multiroom, that way you can run two boxes
off one line.

Cheap servers = Glitchy viewing, don't cheap out on the server.

So, when you go into menu > local network setting > Camds setup > CCcam client setup > manage Config files > CCcam.cfg

your line(s) are shown either online, offline, login or no active?

Hi, I have read the posts and replies. No one has suggested that it could be ip conflict between the boxes.

Well I have a test n-line and all seems fine, just a few channels not working. Contacted supplier to see what's going on, lesson learned don't get cheap c lines :-)
