skybox f5s HD problem

i've got a problem with HD channels it always freezes on my skybox f5s , it freezes on other channels too eventually also , any ideas ?

You'll always get some freezing on boxes and the F5's are very basic, not designed with a lot of power but that said make sure you are connecting via Ethernet for a better result than wi-fi. keep your box up to date too, check your cables etc. There isn't 1 answer for freezing picture, it could be a number of things, just make sure your setup at home is ok.

Also have a read of the loads of freezing issue threads on the forum, you may spot an answer that works for you

If it's freezing on free to air channels then maybe your dish is out of alignment

Yeah its its FTA theres a dish or connection problem.

its the dish , its only 74 - 75% signal quality , getting it realligned the 1st one i called wanted £35 plus vat thats £42 to reallign it then i got one for £20 cash

you can get a signal meter off fleabay for about a fiver and if you can reach your dish then do it yourself, only needs tiny moves to make a difference.

If you REALLY don't want to spend any cash, order one on amazon, then just send it back and refund it after you've aligned your gear. If it still continues with signal qualiy >85%, then your box may just not be powerful enough, though it'd be weird for it to suddenly not be strong enough hardware wise to watch FTA channels. Could even be overheating issue at that point.
