What does ecm data mean?

All sly channels started freezing today every minute or so. Ecm generally around 0.630 but when freezing it jumps to around 2.138

Restarted box and router etc and no difference.

This is now my 2nd line in 6 months. I had a test line and it was perfect and it has been great for the past few months.

Is my ecm high, what causes it and what can I do about it?

I can't keep buying new lines it's costing a fortune.

The ecm time is how long it takes for you box to communicate with the server and back to the box, having an ecm time of over 2 seconds is terribly slow, is your network hard wired? Has this only just happens with this server you are with, maybe he has oversubscribed and has a slow server that can't cope, try a test line from somebody else,

Yes. It's hard wired. Only just started today with this server. Driving me mad purchasing lines. I've already wasted money on 2 lines, so frustrating when the test line is perfect.

Thanks for the info though.

It well be perfect to start with but if he keeps adding to his server then that equals more traffic, from when you got yours, any idea how many more he has sold? Could always ask him? Does he actually have the server or is he a reseller

is it possible people are changing the test lines to unstable ones once money has been exchanged? (via the server side of things) maybe someone more experienced can answer that

I really do believe the seller that there is no fault at their end......they have been very helpful at all times with me and they are a regular poster on this forum, so I truly believe there is more to it and the line is not at fault.

Do you have Fibre? If not check the "always on" setting in your Router. Check your MTU too, different values work for different people.

Yes, I'm on BT infinity, BT smart setup is disabled on the router also. I did wonder if the dish was at fault, but my relative is using a line from the same provider and it's exactly the same, the only connection is we both use BT, admittedly, they are not on Fibre.
