DO NOT SOFTWARE UPDATE THIS WEEK

As outlined on a few posts in the last couple of days, there seems to be a big bug in the latest over the air software updates this week on OpenATV 5.1

After software update you will lose all your sky channels on Tuner A, Tuner B seems unaffected.

On doing a manual search it will ignore these and give you about 500 channels instead of around the 900 mark.

If your scan is struggling, your autoboquets has lots of greyed out channels, or all your sky channels are just a black screen, you can easily fix this by turning on DISCEqC. This brings Tuner A back to life.

Menu...Setup... Service Searching... tuner Configuration... Tuner A... Send DISCqC... Yes

Thanks to the other people on my other thread "lost 400 channels" for finding the solution.

DO NOT SOFTWARE UPDATE THIS WEEK

I presume you had the problem where you originally had the the channels but they then disappeared.

First check everything else is working.
Check your line and restart it to be on the safe side.
Reboot your your router.
Reboout your zgemma.
Then make sure disceqc is set to yes.

If your still struggling I suggest, you try tuner B to see if you are getting channels on that.
Menu...setup...usage & gui...customise... preferred tuner... B (then restart GUI)

yeah had channels fine before, past 2 days they are gone. i'm on page with send disceqc and is at yes,- to be sure should i be on satellite: 28.2e eutelsat & astra 2e/2f ? cant find tuner b i dont get the usage & gui option?

Having the same issue channels are blank, done a scan it brings over 900 channels but only free to air channels are working. What should I do

Further update on this dodgy software update. I put my box in standby last night. This evening pressed power button...nothing... Turned it on and off and the back...nothing...just stuck on boot.
Good job I got a full backup image from 2 weeks ago. Complete reflash required. Something seriously wrong with the software updates this week.

restart cccam and restart cam follow colour guide at bottem off manager page, also try restart after you are done

have you tried reflashing

cant you go and gatecrash someone elses thread. There is a very important problem here that is fecking up loads of boxes and you all start waffling about bloody cccams.

And yes I am peeved off, cause my box is still knackered. I cant finish my new skin yet, my box keeps crashing, filezilla is playing up with it, reflashing a brand new image and it's still crashing. crash logs aren't helpful. grrrrrrrrrrrrr

My box is just completely goosed at that moment.

Even going back to an openatv image from middle of September its still knackered.

Can't setup a usb stick for timeshift and record.

The hdd on it is constantly corrupting resulting in the need to reflash.

On mine, it seems to have knackered, the tuner A, the usb and the hard drive.

Unless its a memory problem which would effect everything.

I am going to the darkside... gonna try the latest VIX firmware on zgemma tv, to see if this fixes my box.

Kiddac, I've been suffering issues with my box over the last 2 weeks, different issues to urs but ive tried everything to rectify so much so im considering buying a replacement because I think some part of the internals are goosed, leading me to the question do you think theres only so much flashing\reflashing rebooting\crashing these boxes can take before perminant damage occurs? mines prob 10 months old now and I've lost count the amount of tweaking and reflashing etc ive done in this time, I think maybe ive over done it on the internal memory etc, other than reflashing do you know of a way to completely wipe these boxes of any image at all?

welcome to the dark side senior kiddac

i hope you do get it sorted and boobishbang i sorted mine out after resetting router and only just managed to reflash

vix flash, crashed pretty much straight away. I am off work today. I am going to get to the bleeding bottom of this. It is obvious on old reflash isn't replacing everything on the box. It is now tryng to find that bleeding needle in the haystack

yes true i stopped downloading extra plugins and using kodi or tsmedia because i was getting to many vix error reboots i just use mine for a sat box only now and didn't have any issues for about a month until last week. I think the issue is expecting too much from these boxes just keep it basic with a great skin.

Be interested to know your findings bud, cuz I would like to try a fix too ;)
Do you get bad block errors when reflashing at all? (not via USB reflash but from within image manager)
