It saves it until the network is restarted you can modify a file on the box but can't remember which one off handIt usually takes eventually. You can do through network adapter menu or nameserver settings.

close, there is a script that overrights the resolve.conf file when the network is restarted, that needs commenting outEdit /etc/resolv.cfg maybe? I'm out to look...

Exactly, when the network is restarted that script reqwrites the resolve file, this edit stops that from happening so your changes are safeEdit - ah this stops the resolve just after you change nameservers...
